Position Summary: We are in search of a person passionate about developing youth and committed to maximising the potential of every child. The Assistant Site Coordinator, under the direction of the Site Coordinator, is responsible for the overall supervision of children, staff and volunteers, activities and record-keeping at the individually assigned school. We need a person with a track record for building positive relationships, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to build a positive environment that fosters positive character development. This position: Provides leadership within the Extended After-School Programme (EASP), ensuring a safe, structured, educational and fun programme. Assists with the supervision and development of 15+ part-time staff, volunteers and programme partners. Ensures high quality activities and that YMCA programme standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Hosts special events, demonstrations and award ceremonies. Ensures positive and effective relationships with participants, parents, school personnel, and colleagues. Serves as a positive role model and promotes character development by embodying the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and faith.
Qualifications: Mature applicant capable of supervising staff team, High School Diploma, CPR & First Aid certified, minimum one year experience in an after-school or child care setting plus strong leadership, communication, supervisory and organisational skills. Should be able to lift and carry 20 lbs. Required to stand and be outdoors for extended periods of time.
Work Schedule & Compensation: Approximately 15 hours per week (Mon-Fri, between the hours of 2:30-6:30 pm), plus additional meeting/planning times, as required; CI $12.25 – $14.50 per hour (based on education and experience), plus part-time benefits.
