PRIOR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN A CAMP OR CHILDCARE SETTING REQUIRED. Must be an excellent role model that is passionate about positive youth development, dependable and of strong work ethic.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this position is responsible for providing direct oversight to the YMCA Day Camp programme, including Y Fun Day series, during the school and holiday breaks. Focused on youth development, the Programme Director serves as a role-model by providing participants with a Day Camp experience grounded in character development and values learning. This position is responsible for creating memories that will last a lifetime by providing a safe, FUN and values-driven camp experience for all!

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct oversight to the YMCA Day Camp programme and Y Fun Day series, including daily coordination and delivery.
• Plan and develop curriculum, including unique camp experiences and events.
• Research and develop new programme options for children aged 5 to 12, while ensuring existing programme offerings continue to meet the changing needs and interests of participants.
• Support the develop of marketing plans and oversee communication initiatives, including camp promotion and community engagement activities.
• Train, supervise and develop 25+ part-time staff and volunteers.
• Establish strong community partnerships and manage their direct involvement in the programme.
• Oversee administrative functions tied to the programme, including scheduling and participant registration.
• Develop, prepare and manage the annual camp budget.

• Support the upkeep and organisation of proper records and files, equipment, supplies and inventories.

• Participate in annual philanthropy initiatives and special events.

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, outdoor education, early childhood education or related field, or 5 years of experience in a camp or childcare setting. YMCA experience preferred.
• Supervisory and budget management experience required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Proven success in programme planning and development.
• Experience teaching and training preferred.
• Must be comfortable in and around water - water safety, lifeguard and CPR/AED & Basic First Aid training will be required and provided by the YMCA.
• Should be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Required to stand and be outdoors for extended periods of time.
• Minimum age 24. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.

Work Schedule & Compensation: 45+ hours per week, evenings and occasional weekends required based on programme needs, starting salary: CI $45,000 - $55,000 per annum (based on education and experience) plus full-time benefits.
